Close to the castle a Norse king of Dublin built Christ Church Cathedral (c. 1030), which was replaced about 140 years later by a Norman structure. It was restored in the 1870s at enormous cost

This cathedral is the oldest building in the city. After exploring (highlights include the tomb of Strongbow and the Chapel of St. Laurence O'Toole), you can have coffee at the Cathedral café.

This church was founded in by the Vikings then later re-built by the Anglo Normans. It is located in the heart of the former medieval Dublin.It also contains the largest Cathedral crypt in Britain&IRL

Guided tour is very informative and well worth the money, really interesting seeing all the architecture and going down in to the crypt was amazing

Make sure you get the combined ticket for here and the Dublinia and don't miss the crypt with Tom and Jerry the mummified cat and mouse!
