Catedral de Lübeck

La catedral de Lübeck (Alemán: Dom zu Lübeck o coloquialmente el Lübecker Dom) ye una gran catedral luterana de lladriyu, allugada en Lübeck, Alemaña, y dende 1987 ye Patrimoniu de la Humanidá xuntu con tol cascu antiguu de Lübeck.

La so construcción empecipiar en 1173 por Enrique'l Llión como una catedral pal obispáu de Lübeck. Foi parcialmente destruyida nun ataque aéreu en 1942 mientres la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El órganu por Arp Schnitger perder nel fueu. Tamién ye famosa poles obres de Bernt Notke y de Thomas Quellinus que sobrevivieron al ataque de 1942.

Más tarde, foi reconstruyida y l'actual edificiu foi termináu en 1982. El famosu altar ellaboráu por Hans Memling atópase anguaño nel Muséu St. Annen en Lübeck.

Construcción

En 1173, Enrique'l Llión fundó la catedral por que sirviera al obispáu de Lübeck, dempués de la tresferencia en 1160 del sitiu del obispu dende Oldenburg in Holstein. La entós románica catedral foi terminada en redol a 1230, pero ente 1266 y 1335 foi convertíu a un estilu góticu con naves colaterales alzaes al mesmu altor que la nave principal (alredor de 20 metros).

Na nueche del Domingo de Ramos (28-29 de marzu) de 1942, un ataque aéreu destruyó un quintu de la torre central. Delles bombes cayeron na zona alredor de la ilesia, lo que causó que la bóveda oriental del coru colapsara y destruyera el altar que databa de 1696. Una quema del muséu vecín a la catedral arrobinar a la celosía de la catedral y, en redol al mediudía del Domingu de Ramos, les torres colapsaron. El órganu de Arp Schnitger perder nes llapaes; sicasí, salvóse una porción relativamente grande d'accesorios internos, incluyendo la cruz y casi tolos polípticus medievales. En 1946, un posterior colapsu del gablete del transepto norte destruyó l'antepar casi por completu.

La reconstrucción de la catedral tomó delles décades, yá que se-y dio mayor prioridá a la reconstrucción de la Ilesia de Santa María de Lübeck (que ye la ilesia más grande de la ciudá, según la tercera más grande d'Alemaña); por ello, el trabayu foi completáu en 1982.

Decoración

El crucifixu de 17 metros foi obra del artista Bernt Notke, por encargu del obispu de Lübeck, Albert II. Krummendiek, y foi alzáu en 1477. Les talles que decoraben el coru altu tamién fueron realizaes tamién por Notke.

Dende la guerra, el altar famosu de Hans Memling tuvo na colección medieval del Muséu St. Annen, pero notables polípticus caltener na catedral. Nes capiyes funeraries de la nave sur son memoriales de la era barroca, pol escultor flamencu Thomas Quellinus.
