An excellent & truly historic day out. Worth visiting and spending the full day here if the weather is good as you can have a picnic on the battlefield. The abbey is much fun for all ages & even dogs.

A site of greatest historic event could be more impressive. It’s good to walk around the battlefield, read how the battle evolved, but the battlefield is overgrown and spotted with sheep’s mess.

Be sure to pick up the free audio tour but you can skip the movie in the visitor center as it covers the same information. And don't forget about the museum hidden upstairs in the gate house.
